Hi all!

Quick update for everyone here, the shipment of figures should be on its way from China (although with the vagueness of ocean freight, this could mean a few weeks or a month or two, who knows). Here’s hoping it’s smooth sailing! I’ve been taking care of some reorganizing and house-cleaning in preparation, so once that’s done I’ll also be getting the surveys out to you all shortly.

Cartons are packed! Freight estimates are...well, pending. But hey, they're ready to head stateside!

If we're really lucky, I might have a few at Further Confusion for in-person previewing in January. Depends on how fast the overseas shipping goes (and the pricing quote too). I'd expect the rest of the shipment to arrive stateside in February or so. Once I get finalized shipping quotes (cost and time) from the manufacturer, I'll send out another announcement with survey info.

Once the surveys are up, you'll be able to submit your address as well as add additional La Breas, prints, and unpainted La Breas to your order. As stated in the previous update, I only had 20 unpainted sets made, so if you want one please be ready to order when the link goes live! :)

Hello all! Well, since the last update, aside from having to prep for a convention, I had a massive hard drive failure and had to learn how to solder tiny connectors on top of that! Boy that emergency computer surgery and data recovery attempts, that wasn't stressful at all! o_o;

But I'm back, and thankfully while I was gone, the figure factory has been cranking away at the progress on La Brea. I feel like it has been very helpful to have sent a painted model over, as this time there was no ambiguous guesses at paint colors...

So far production is right on schedule and we just need to get the box art done. Then they'll be on the slow boat stateside, and soon after that will hopefully be winging away to their new homes!

For those of you wondering, no, the surveys haven't gone out yet. Don't worry! I will post an announcement when they do go out, just so they aren't missed. Shouldn't be too hard to reconstruct my notes on what needed to be completed, and of course there should be more than enough* La Breas to go around. :)

(*painted. There will only be 20 unpainted La Brea sets due to niche interest.)

Whew, time flies! Well I wanted to update folks with news on what's going on since the campaign ended, so here goes:

1. Backerkit surveys will be sent out soon, hopefully by next week. Please make sure your e-mail can accept e-mails from backerkit.com. You will be able to order additional figure copies and/or extra prints there, if you had wanted more for gifts or other people.

INTERNATIONAL BACKERS PLEASE NOTE: due to an interface issue between Backerkit and Fulfillrite, please use only the official three-letter abbreviation for your state/province/county. If it goes in the State blank on the form, keeping it to three letters or less is vastly helpful.  I will remind everyone of this again when the surveys are ready to be sent out.

2. I ended up doing things a bit in reverse this time and am also chipping in some of my own savings from past projects to produce the run at a final total of 300 colored La Brea sets. Woo! That means each of your figures will be one of only 300 pieces in the world, no more to be made in this colorway. After the money transferred from Kickstarter into the bank, the order has been sent to the factory. I'm now waiting on confirmation from the factory so I can make the deposit and they can get started. Once they receive the deposit, they'll be able to give me a more solid timeline of how long the turnaround time will take. After they're made, packed, and labeled, we'll be at the mercy of the international shipping gods, so keep fingers crossed for benevolent ocean travel and a swift uneventful passage through Customs!

3. For those of you following on my Twitter, I posted a couple of teaser photos of designs in the pipe that I have been working on while waiting for various things to process. Here are some pics of one I hope to have finished very soon! These were taken a while ago of the early rough work stages. For those of you who are wondering, yes, this is all done by hand, with clay on the outside and foil and wire on the inside.

Good morning everyone! With your support, we raised $7668 total between Kickstarter and Paypal. Now we wait for cards to be charged and the funds transferred to our bank. Kickstarter advises that this can take about two weeks to process, so in the meantime I'm finalizing our quote with the factory and getting them ready to start production!
